***Apparently there are some audio issues with Firefox on this video. Working on it now…In meantime, Internet Explorer works fine***

  1. Wow. That’s a tough lesson to learn, man. Sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing this, I’m just starting out but I can see how important it is.

  2. Gary Hochstetler says:

There isn’t any sound with the video so can’t tell what you are saying. My lip reading skills aren’t so hot.

  3. Lionel says:

Man missing out on $120K would keep me up for weeks! But hey, you live and you learn.

  4. Delton says:

Hey Dan, sorry man, but a good lesson is learnt, with your openness & willingness to share, this will come back to you soon. Thanks for your help, and have a great 2011

  5. Cathy says:

I like your hair short like that. The shaggy hair was cute but it made you look like a teenager.

Too bad about the 120 grand. Expensive lesson!

  6. Mazin says:

I was actually working on a product that I was just about to launch, but something said check to check my email, so I did. I read your email and watched this video. You just saved me from making a big mistake. I look back over my presentation from a consumer point of view and realized that I need to invest more time into it. Thanks Dan

It’s all about educational pedagogy. I like the fact that I’ve been a teacher for 10 years and now am taking a stab at internet marketing. There is nothing better than a well put together video that explains something that may seem easier to an experienced marketer, yet is foreign to newbies.
Good catch on that one Dan and thanks for the lesson learned.

  8. johns online says:

Ouch, sorry to hear about that kind of loss man. Life is always full of mistake, but don’t dwell on it. Learn from it and crush next go round. This hard lesson will probably cause you to make way more money in the future because of the loss you will be really diligent with all your future promo’s.

Thanks for saving bro. I feel like your a friend and not just a teacher. I appreciate you helping us to learn from your mistakes and being open enough to share them with us. Thanks bro,

Thanks Dan, I really appreciate the helpful info you always share. Just to say I have your course and am really pleased with the valuable help and info in your course (Deadbeat). I’m also pleased to be your subscriber!!! I just finished my 1st Amazon site and guess what, I fidled and updated it too much and now it’s showing a 404 error page on google search ranking page 6, well of course I’m not impressed with myself but, never mind, a good lesson learned and I’m straight into making my next site now I know what to do because of you course. Love your new hair do by the way, nice to see you, thanks for being there!!!

  23. jcdean says:

Cool lesson, was waiting for a pitch but you really just wated to share something important.

Your stock just went up with me.

    Liked the hair long BTW

  24. Cool haircut. At $120K, an expensive one

  25. cy says:

Nothing wrong with your haircut. Sometimes it’s good to be unrecognizable. Thanks for sharing your mistakes. You make some you lose some. Too bad, move on man.

  26. Larry W. says:

    Dan, ggod stuff.

I got you r amazon course, and am implementing it a,b,c just like you say.

I have built amazon sites before, but not with the 4 or 5 twists you taught me. I can already see results.

Thanks so much for a dead-easy, inexpensive step-by-step method.

    Larry

  27. Kevin says:

    Hey Dan,

Wow that is some way to learn a lesson. Upside is, now you know and will not let that happen again. Thanks for your honesty, being down to earth and sharing. That is why people listen and trust you. Take care and continued success.

    P. S. Haircut looks good.

  28. Mike says:

    Hi Dan,
Thanks for putting this out there. 120,000 is an awful expensive tuition. Thanks for the eye opener.
    Mike

  29. Shirley says:

Thanks for the lesson Dan. It may seem a costly one right now but at least you know for next time.
I’m sure you’ll more than make it up for it over time in good will! You are much appreciated for your honesty!

  30. James C. says:

An eye opener to say the least Dan. Thanks for sharing.
I’m learning lots here and being part of BTF that you recommended. Yes, the extra efforts we put into the sales and conversion phases is soooo important!

  31. That is a very hard lesson to learn, i think i would make myself violently ill after working out that i’d basicly flushed another $120K down the toilet just because I was too lazy to do a simple process correctly and no the half ass way.

It is something now thanks to you dan if I ever am in the same situation I know that I will do it right.

    Thank you
    DAMIAN

  32. Gloria says:

    Dan:
Love the haircut! Sorry to hear about your expensive lesson. But thanks for sharing with the rest of us. Your honesty really is appreciated and refreshing!

  33. miles says:

i learned more from your rant then any post.

  34. art says:

    Dan,

I can see you’re really taking this thing hard. No one likes to lose money.

But you’re young, on top of your game and you’ll make 10X that
    sooner than you think

I’m more concerned about that haircut. Are you kiddin’ me.
    What’s next a shaved head? I call’em a brain surgery haircut.

You had nice hair. Hair is beautiful. What about those poor suckers that start going bald in their thirties.

You don’t think they’d kill for your hair. Don’t cut it, let it grow and grow and grow.

One day that hair is going to start falling out at about 100mph and you’re going to think back to the days when your shower looked like a french poodle showered in it.

Any guy that disagrees, with what I’m saying is hair challenged.

You’re into martial arts. Martial arts guys emulate the ufc haircut – meaning NO F’IN Hair. And they get tattooed all
over the place to make up for the missing hair.

Hey, do what you want, it’s your head. I’m just telling you guy to guy. Hair is beautiful. The more hair the more beauty.

Hey even girls get it. Look at how long they let theirs grow. If they cut it off like yours they’d never get la*d.

Screw hair club for men, menoxidil, bull sperm, just grow it til it don’t grow no more.

Hey,I gotta run, my stylist won’t keep my appointment.

  35. Don says:

I can hear it just fine. Your example really shows the power of video instruction, doesn’t it?

What do you think of providing a DVD option, where people can order DVDs of your instructional videos, rather than watch them online? Have your colleagues tested that option to see if it increases sales?

  36. bill kang says:

wow, thanks for the tip. I can see why you might want to rush through them stages but as you realized through hindsight, there is a lot of money to be made.

Definitely one to put into the memory banks for future reference.

You’re doing an amazing job regardless. Keep up the great work and please keep the tips and tutorials coming.

    Bill Kang

  37. Peggy says:

    Dan:

You are not one to follow the pack…..so with that being said let your hair grow and only cut it when you feel like it is time. I think I like your hair longer? It seems from what I am reading here we are split on the long and short of it.

Thanks for sharing the money thing…..sorry you had to learn that hard lesson. Maybe you have saved some of us (myself would be one) from making the same mistake.

    Kindest Regards,

    Peggy

  38. Tassimo says:

    Dan,

You ARE the man! I don’t see it as a loss, but more a very expensive lesson. And you definitely learned from the lesson and shared it with your fellow viewers/customers so they/we learned from your lesson also. So I feel it was beneficial to you and us. Because this may and possible will continue happening to others aside from yourself if you hadn’t come across this mistake. To this, I thank you for sharing and I truly believe with your know-how and expertise you will definitely rebound back and attain even further success. Thanks for truly being there for your viewer-ship and thank you for your thorough Deadbeat System.

  42. Boardman says:

Thanks for sharing Dan you missed out big time but I’m sure you will make it up. At the moment I wish I was making $10,000 but I’ll get there.
About the hair, you like it long you wear it long.I had to have my hair short for my job now at 63yrs. old and no job I can grow it as long as I want.

  43. Dave says:

I’ve canceled my hosting with Fox Business Solutions for there only paying 4% of sales so I’m going directly to the source and make my own website through them for the up to 15% of sales. What do you mean exactly and whats involved in the promotions so we all know.

  44. Thanks for sharing … sure it was an expensive lesson but if it hadn’t happened you’d never have learned it (and neither would we).

    Good luck for future ventures!

  45. Di says:

    Hi Dan,

I have no doubt that you’ll make it back in no time – thanks for sharing your hard earned knowledge with us!

As for your haircut, either way is cool, but wear it the way you like.

    Kind regards,

    Di

  46. Ira Wright says:

  47. Ron says:

Don’t go back to that place anymore to get your hair cut.

  48. MikeTGS says:

Thanks for being so up-front Dan. It increases your already considerable credibility. I consider every thing you have to say.

  49. lmp says:

Great point, most people are focusing on traffic. But, all the traffic in the world doesn’t help if you can convert it.

  50. Jason Dinner says:

You can always make a video for your members now. Don’t assume all of your customers actually took the time to go through your course or even remember buying it 😉

    Jay Dinner

  51. Diane Gray says:

Thanks for the honest “rant”. You’ve already endeared yourself to more people than you may know. I know you’ll make your mistake up in future sales of your products because folks will trust you. By the way, your haircut looks great!

  52. Paul Flood says:

@ Jay – good point. A lot of the people have yet to go through it.
What you did do was take action to launch a product.
Those of us who’ve gone through the course realize it’s good stuff and are opening your emails. Send out another with a video review of the host.
Great lesson though. Thanks for sharing!
    Paul

  53. Ann Marie says:

Thanks for sharing. nice hair cut too!! You look good with hair long also. Just started following your tips last couple of months. Keep up the good work. You’ll make that money back in no time…you’re smart enough. 🙂

  54. mia says:

Do not be upset, you are so young and smart you will make your $120,000 very soon.

I actually liked the hairstyle you had before, it was cute, now you like everyone else 🙂

  55. Sam says:

I’m sure you’ve got some spare change in the bank just go and buy the Porsche anyway, if not when’s the release of Deadbeat…v2,v3,v4? 🙂

  56. Ruth says:

Hey Dan, Thanks for sharing. Just started with your program a while ago. Am getting through the learning curve slowly but surely:) Will keep this in mind!
As far as the hair, I never thought it was too long, and yes, I did like it better before the haircut. LOL, sometimes you just can’t win! Thanks again, Ruth

  57. Dave says:

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I’m still working to make my first 1K. Hey, it’s just hair!

  58. kkvang01 says:

Well, I’m just starting out and all this is new to me but I believe your system very much. I don’t know what you are talking about but I am appreciative of your sharing with us and being honest about everything.

I’ve tried emailing support a couple times but no response. Is there a deadbeat support group available?

  59. Jane Stevens says:

    Hey Dan,
Bet you were absolutely gutted when you realised what you had missed out on – I know I would be. But I have taken notes and if I ever create a product and do a launch I will be sure to follow through on your advice. Although as mentioned by someone else above I guess a video recommendation is much more powerful and educational to others – especially those of us still learning how all this works. So lesson learnt!! Put it down to experience and move on.
    Regards
    Jane :o)

  60. TJ Ross says:

Thanks again Dan for the great advice. I also purchased your Deadbeat Super Affiliate course and it is awesome!! Keep up the good work buddy!
