Interesting and informative, thank you Dan. You are right I am sure that it’s that bit of extra work that gets people results – glad it looks like 10 – 15% rather than the ‘extra mile’ which sounds exhausting! Doing the extra 15% to keep ahead is a no-brainer.

Nice video Dan. I like your point about people taking the weak route. So true. To be honest, most people already know more than enough to be successful online, but they just put in a halfass effort instead of going all the way with it. Stop buying product after product and just pick a method to master.
By the way, I tried to catch you at Yaniks Friday night. I was hanging out at Kelly Felix’s after party, but I think you guys went into Georgetown. Maybe I’ll catch you at one of the upcoming events on the west coast. It was definitely a lot of fun though. Here’s a few pics from Yaniks:

Dan!! While there are no doubt other genuine marketers “out there”, I now only pay attention to your picks for anyone who may have something to offer. It’s too,too, easy to get sidetracked by the “rest”,and lose focus on a BASICS approach, — which is in your data. I have been guilty of just that,- haven’t done a thing yet!!. Hey Dan, appreciate your video. I particularly liked your analogy with radio and tv – despite the cahallenges, and changes to technology, they are still viable and going strong. Same for the internet. I take you r point about FB being so popular and we need to adapt to that reality, however I beleive that the “open” internet will survive and thrive just like radio and tv, despite the overwhelming influence of Facebook.

Nice to hear some sense talked at last.
I think the Internet is past the baby stage now though. We are more at the toddler stage where we are beginning to realise what we can do. We’ve now got to work out how to do it and keep practicing to get it right.
Beats me how some of these short cut and short change people ever learnt to walk. There was far more effort in learning that than what they are now willing to do to get somewhere.
I do have your Deadbeat Affilliate course and can recommend that as one way to really get somewhere. It does take time and effort though so shirkers beware.

You know what I like most about your videos, pdf’s, emails, etc.? I always have a renewed sense of purpose after I review your material! There is so much negativity out there about what works, what’s not working, this and that…… talk about information overload! It’s very hard for someone new to decipher through all the junk out there. I totally believe this business is all about taking ACTION on the education and knowledge you attain, but most importantly – it’s your mindset!
Hey Dan, great video. Like you Facebook always left me cold, my wife and daughter are heavily involved in it but I just couldn´t see the point.
Now from a marketing point of view I can definetaly see the point of view, but I must admit I am struggling to see how to make this work. Something to work on over the next couple of months.

It is a fact that affiliate marketing is among the simplest and most efficient ways to generate income online. However, you will have to make an effort right until you can generate income from your affiliate business. You must work hard if you want to achieve success and you will also have to apply certain tools in order to earn money.
1. Commitment: The very first thing you have to do is to commit to yourself that you are serious with your choice, you’re serious with building your own business, serious about taking 100% responsibility with whatever you do. You might think that this sounds ridiculous, but it’ll guide you rightly on your journey. Once you can think, and are responsible like a real business owner, you’ll stand out from people.
2. Education: The next important part that can make or break your business is your education, or your knowledge about this online business. Most people failed because they did not know exactly what Internet Affiliate Marketing is, how it works, and how they can do things correctly. If you want to see results in the long run, you must arm yourself with enough knowledge. Don’t let something that you don’t know holds you back.
3. Focus: The laser beam can break through even the thickest plate of metal because it focuses its energy. You can break even everything if you stay focus too. Fact is, people have no advantages over you, everyone starts at the same level, the reason why some have success, some don’t lies in the word “focus”. Focus on what you can do best, on what you know the most, and go with them, you’ll join the 5% group soon.
4. Taking actions: Isn’t it true that only taking actions can bring you closer to your goals? You can’t achieve results just by sitting there, making a wish! It’s time to put what you’ve learned so far to real actions. I know this is the hardest part, but believe me that when you can do the very first action toward your goals, the next steps will come naturally. Whatever you do, make sure that it guides you to your goals!
5. Don’t quit: Quitters are losers! In fact, if you’re serious with your online business, having enough knowledge about what you’re doing, and are taking actions persistently, chances are you’ll never quit! Congratulations! Because most people came in fast, but they quit soon as well. If you just stay focus, taking actions, and don’t quit, you’ll be successful. Guaranteed!

Hi Dan, thanks for the great insight for 2011, I would like to know if your planning to make a post about the big Google alogarithm “content farmer” update that happened at the end of Feb or does this video cover that? I ask because I’m not entirely sure if things like mini-affiliate websites with 1-3 page reviews (even with unique content) will actually work any more or whether we should just focus on developing niche authoritive sites with reviews mixed within those sites?
From what I’m reading at various news sites (not negative forum sites) is that Google will be downgrading the importance of ranking for things like exact product domain matches, keyword focused pages, article marketing on high PR sites and niche mini-sites that try and use 1,000’s backlinks to unrelated blogs/sites (regardless of PR). Can you tell us if we need to change anything in our approach to combat these changes or whether or do you think that we should continue to focus on what you suggested in the video and not worry about it.
